Position Description:
An existing, widely installed solution is being redeployed as a fully browser-based, Java solution.
Goals & Primary Responsibilities:
• Conduct Builds in accordance to company standards and systems specifications.
• Develop, maintain and initiate regression test scripts to ensure the build is defect free.
• Document and communicate regression test results to the appropriate staff.
• Conduct application deployments according to company standards.
• Deploy the application to the appropriate environments.
• Maintain and enhance multiple version control environments.
• Perform upgrades to version control software and build software and deployment software where required.
• Provide technical support on issues related to the configuration and execution of the application on servers and workstations.
- Primary liaison, “gatekeeper”, and “bouncer” between the deployment team and all classic client account teams
- Audit all updates to a Service Pack or Application Release by updating information tab to include list of all objects and scripts included in deployment
- PC proficient, Skilled in MS Office, Above average Excel skillset
- Thoroughly organized and able to balance multiple work efforts at once
- Effective written and oral communicator
- High level understanding of application and database layer architectures
- Flexible in ability to multi-task in a demanding environment
- Can be available on-demand
- Works well under pressure
- Ability to estimate and communciate realistic timelines
- Ability to QA client/server application and validate updated development issues
- Take a pro-active approach in doing whatever it takes to get deployments completed
- Willingness to learn and makes a team more efficient
- SQL and Powerbuilder skills are a plus
