JOB SUMMARY:
UMBI's Center of Marine Biotechnology (COMB) is seeking highly motivated Research Associate (Postdoctoral) with excellent writing skills for a non tenure track appointment. This appointment is renewable contingent upon funding.
Responsibilities:
Research on biochemical, molecular, and structural aspects of galectin /ligand interactions. The selected candidate shall be capable of carrying out independent research and collaborating in group research at an advanced level, trained in research procedures, and should have had the experience and specialized training necessary to develop and interpret data required for sustained responsibilities in research. Report writing is required, and publication in peer-reviewed journals is expected. In addition, the candidate will be expected to initiate and participate in writing grant proposals. Training of undergraduate and graduate students, and routine maintenance tasks in the laboratory.

| Qualifications |
REQUIRED:
Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or related field.
PREFERRED:
Demonstrated experience in biochemical, molecular, and structural approaches to study protein-carbohydrate interactions. |
