JOB SUMMARY:
Functions as a post-doctoral researcher in a laboratory setting. Acts independently and under the mentorship Principal Investigator in the design and development of of research projects, methods and procedures, the preparation of research proposals, and the writing of research findings.
DUTIES:
Successful candidate will work in an interdisciplinary research team lead by Dr. Payne (http://www.umbi.umd.edu/CBR). The successful candidate will develop chip based immunoassay in collaboration with academic and industrial partners. Candidate will be required to; (i) interface proteins to sensors, (ii) measure protein binding, and (iii) determine binding affinities. Also, the successful candidate will be required to: guide their research; work effectively within a team; communicate their results to partners; and prepare manuscripts for publication

| Qualifications |
REQUIRED:
Ph.D. in Chemistry, physics, biology, biochemistry, immunology, biophysics, food science or engineering. Candidates must have experience in protein expression, purification and quantitative measurement of activity. Candidates must have a track record for publishing in English-language peer-reviewed journals of reasonable impact factor. Candidate must have reasonable communication skills and enjoy working in teams. US citizens or permanent residents preferred while non-residents may be required to undergo a background check. |
