Job Summary:
The Web Systems Administrator will report to the Manager of Production Operations and owns the implementation and administration of Turbine’s start-of-the-art web community platform through collaboration with all cross functional departments. The ideal candidate has a strong Linux/Web administration background, has worked in a 24/7 Production environment, and has proficiency in multiple aspects of application deployment and integration, automation, web administration, application monitoring and system maintenance.

Essential Functions:
• Install, configure, integrate and upgrade applications, middleware and 3rd party components to support multiple environments
• Administer high-availability web application infrastructure (LAMP)
• Perform and improve general Systems Management, Patch Management, and Software Distribution processes
• Anticipates and identifies issues and implements effective alternative solutions
• Able to estimate, plan, and organize tasks associated with the role with minimal assistance
• Effective communication and presentation skills for interacting with peers and management
• Create, follow and maintain documentation and standards
• Participate in on call rotation


Required Skills:
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or +6 years of related work experience
• 4+ years experience administrating a 300+ 7/24 Production service
• Widespread knowledge of a variety of system management tools, automated/scripted deployment solutions, various monitoring solutions (OpenNMS/BMC/Nagios), and various operational platform experiences required
• Helps influence others on the importance of delivering quality products and services
• Excellent time management skills, well-organized and capable of multi-tasking in an extremely demanding 7x24x365 environment
