Job Description
INSIGHT IMAGING is a leading provider of radiology services, with more than 230 fixed imaging facilities and mobile units located in over 30 states. We offer a full continuum of diagnostic imaging services that complement existing community healthcare resources and focus on the specific needs of each distinct medical community. Examples of Essential Functions:
  • Recruit, interview, select, train, supervise, and evaluate employees. Recommend staffing and personnel changes.
  • Oversee all processes related to patient scheduling, insurance verifications, patient registration, report transcription, medical records management, billing and collections
    (Where applicable).
  • Compose letters and correspondence and maintain office files and records.
  • Ensure all office equipment is maintained and in good working order. Order office supplies as needed.
  • Research and resolve issues or complaints from patients, referring physicians and their staff or employees.
  • Supervise and monitor the release of confidential information in accordance with company policies and procedures, federal regulations, and state statutes of privileged information for requests from insurance companies, attorneys, patients and subpoenas.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the facility’s physical plant. Ensure patient waiting areas are maintained in a professional manner.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, the company’s policies and procedures, and The InSight Integrity Program.
  • Perform other projects/tasks, as requested by the Company.

    Candidates must have:
  • Minimum 3 years in a lead customer service role in a medical office setting or three years medical office supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to train staff in patient services functions.
  • Previous medical procedures, medical terminology and insurance plan coverage.
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance processes.

    Desirable:
  • Bachelors degree in health care or other related field
  • Experience in a medical setting with lead responsibilities
  • Training or course work in the use of word processing application programs.
  • Read, interpret, communicate and understand a second language.

    Knowledge:
  • Medical terminology.
  • Customer service principles and techniques.
  • Inventory accounting and purchasing practices.
  • Office filing and record keeping techniques.
  • Supervisory principles and leadership techniques.
  • Office and administrative practices, policies and procedures.

    Skills/Abilities:
  • Operate a computer keyboard or typewriter.
  • Operate telecommunications console and standard office equipment such as a
    calculator, copier and facsimile equipment.
  • Schedule, organize and complete work in accordance with deadlines.
  • Select, train, supervise and evaluate the work of staff, delegate tasks and check
    work for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of personnel and payroll data.
  • Scan, verify, copy, fax and distribute documents and messages.
  • Plan, establish and evaluate the attainment of departmental goals.
  • Maintain patient privacy and the confidentiality of patient records.
  • Maintain office supplies to budgeted levels.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, management, vendors, contractors, health
    care representatives, and external customers.
