Job Description
INSIGHT IMAGING is a leading provider of radiology services, with more than 150 fixed imaging facilities and mobile units located in over 30 states. We offer a full continuum of diagnostic imaging services that complement existing community healthcare resources and focus on the specific needs of each distinct medical community. Seeking a 3T MRI Technologist to scan in our Diagnostic Imaging Center. Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, perform all required diagnostic MRI scanning procedures with knowledge of all pertinent technical and academic areas to produce consistent high quality examinations and provide technical direction and staff supervision when applicable. Responsible for promoting clinical applications development of diagnostic imaging procedures and technical training support for technologists and physicians.



Examples of Essential Functions :

  • Perform all required diagnostic MRI scanning procedures through proper positioning and technique, consistently demonstrating good judgement in evaluating the diagnostic studies.
  • Screen patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination (i.e., pain, claustrophobia, metallic objects, isolation patients, etc.). Obtain and review the requisition for examination to obtain information such as procedure requested, clinical history, patient condition or any other special requirements.
  • Thoroughly explain procedure to be performed to alleviate patient anxiety and facilitate patient cooperation. Monitor the condition of any patient within the department and assist the radiologist in performing needed medical attention, if applicable.
  • Comply with company operational and safety policies and procedures. Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and emergency procedures, where applicable.
  • Maintain the MR scanning equipment in good operating order. Clean and disinfect equipment and area after each use. Maintain work area in an orderly manner. Check to ensure emergency equipment is in good working order. Report any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to responsible supervisor.
  • Routinely prepare examination for interpretation by the radiologist to include correct identification and film processing, adequate clinical history and previous x-rays for comparison (if available).
  • Assist radiologist during the administration of contrast media and practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures as required. Recognize allergic reactions and respond in accordance to company policies and procedures for emergent patient care.
  • Interact with facility manager in the scheduling of technical and support staff, controlling patient flow through proper scheduling, review of examination routines and problems follow up with patients or referring physicians.
  • Assist site manager in the organization and completion of staff meetings, educational in-services, enforcement of safety procedures and maintaining the professional appearance of the center.
  • Recommend scanning protocols that meet physicians’ needs...
  • Assure that “red carpet” service is provided to patients, referring physicians, their staff.
  • Conduct examinations with regard to patient’s age, condition or other special requirements.
  • Provide or coordinate clinical applications product training for technologists related to diagnostic imaging and ancillary imaging related technology.
  • Identify areas of clinical applications growth specific to 3T technology, including but not limited to fMRI, cardiac and breast imaging.
  • Act as a technical liaison between OEM and InSight.
  • Support InSight locations with American College of Radiology “ACR” modality accreditation process as needed. Some overnight travel may be necessary.

    Candidates Must Have :
  • 1 year 3T experience preferred.
  • Experience in research, fmri, cardiac studies and breast studies.
  • Previous experience in an academic setting preferred.
  • ARRT (MR) Licensure
  • Appropriate State License
  • CPR Certification

    Knowledge:
  • State and Federal health and safety laws.
  • Fundamentals of PACS technology.
  • American College of Radiology (MRI) guidelines.
  • Working knowledge applicable to MR scanning technology with specific references to cross-sectional anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles as applied to MR scanning.
  • Ability to identify disease abnormalities and physiological processes while performing MR scans.
  • Patient care standards and requirements.
  • Quality assurance principles and practices.
  • Customer service principles and practices.
  • Budgeting practices.
  • OSHA principles and practices.

    Special Requirements:
  • May be required to rotate on an on-call basis.
  • OSHA Class 1 exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.
  • May require use of personal vehicle for business purposes.
  • May require some travel.
