| Description: |
Primary responsibilities:
Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization
Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe employees to ensure compliance with standards
Interview and hire candidates for employment
Certify that all employees are properly trained in their job duties, in proper safety procedures, and enforce all safety rules and procedures
Effectively communicate pertinent information and coach employees to maximize performance
Resolve worker grievances or submit unsettled grievances to the Plant Manager for action
Compile, store, and report relevant production data
Ensure plant meets regulatory standards – USDA/ State of Idaho Dept. of Agriculture
Identify employee training needs and set up or conduct training as necessary
Administer programs such as membrane maintenance and master sanitation lists
Take an active role in plant systems such as HACCP, Employee safety, food safety, etc
Be involved with and lead continuous improvement teams
Identify and resolve issues with quality, yields, costs, throughput, etc

| Required Skills: |
BS degree in food science, manufacturing technology or related field and a minimum of 3 years of direct supervisory experience; or 5-7 years of applicable experience
Possess a complete understanding of whey processing
Possess particular experience and skills related with high volume operations
Ability to diagnose and solve problems associated with the production process
Provide the relevant leadership skills necessary to keep the operation focused
Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
