Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in engineering, hydrogeology, hydrology, or related field; PhD degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years relevant work experience in quantitative modeling of groundwater or surface water systems
  • Knowledge of hydrogeology or surface water hydrology, and statistics; knowledge of finite element or finite difference method is strongly preferred
  • Familiar with general hydrogeologic concepts including aquifer testing, tracer testing, and hydrogeochemistry
  • Experience in developing site conceptual models and building and calibrating numerical models; experience with database management, for example using Access, is strongly preferred
  • Ability to coordinate a project team to accomplish quantitative analysis tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical writing experience
  • Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate hydrological data and develop site conceptual model
  • Build, calibrate, and validate numerical models for groundwater, surface water, or integrated systems
  • Write customized computer programs for preparing model input files and for processing model outputs
  • Provide project management, including staff, schedule, budget, and client management as task or project manager
  • Prepare reports and calculation packages
Other Job Requirements Include:
  • Proficient in one or more of the following programming lanuages: Fortran, C/C++, and Matlab
  • Proficient in one or more of the following software programs or codes, MODFLOW, MT3D, RT3D, Hydrogeosphere, Groundwater Vistas, GMS, Visual MODFLOW, Hydrus, TOUGH2, MPDFLOW-SURFACT and PEST
