Job Description:
Responsible for creating and implementing the overall sales strategy for the Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson AFB, and for meeting sales targets within that region. Collaborate with a team of government, academic, and industry partners in the Dayton, Ohio area as it relates to the promotion FLIR’s business interests and objectives. Performs other duties as assigned to assist the Director of Air Force Business Development.


1.Responsible for creating and implementing the overall sales strategy for capturing business within the Air Force Materiel Command, to include the Air Force Research Laboratory, Aeronautical Systems Center, and the Air Logistics Centers.
2.Responsible for meeting the established bookings plan for the assigned territory for all product and market segments.
3.Perform field product demonstrations, seminars and trade show support on a regular basis.
4.Respond to technical and proposal requests from prospective customers, provide answers to technical questions and respond to competitive situations as required. Travel (up to 30%) in a cost effective manner, consistent with company policies.
5.Support OEMS, Integrators and partners on use of the equipment and sales techniques.
6.Provide bookings forecast information on a weekly basis.
7.Maintain customer liaison throughout the period of performance to avoid and/or mediate problems which might threaten company objectives.
8.Provide a sales performance and strategy report on an annual basis. Assist in the formulation of new product specifications which meet the needs of the customers in the territory. Analyze competition and recommend appropriate strategies for gaining market share.
9.Work closely with other business development personnel, engineers and regional representatives to promote the products in a coordinated, uniform manner.
10.Perform other job related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

BS degree with strong technical background. Should have experience with preparing formal proposals and selling into the Government and Federal communities. Must possess or be able to obtain a secret security clearance. Must be willing to live in the greater Dayton, Ohio area. Must be able to transport and demonstrate equipment, weighing up to 70 lbs. Prior job experience in a related industry or former military /government service in the grade of O-4/GS-12 or above is desired. Technical background in aerospace operations, EO/IR sensors, lasers, radars, missile systems, networked systems is highly desired.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Must be able to work effectively alone with minimal supervision and as an effective team member at both the peer and subordinate levels.
2.Will be hands-on and enjoy working with customers.

4.Will bring strong strategic skills and understand where the USAF will be spending money for the type products FLIR offers. Must also be solutions driven and create strong relationships with the customers.
5.Must bring a high degree of energy, intellect and positive attitude to the position. Must have strong written and verbal skills.
6.Will bring excellent leadership skills and have experience organizing and leading small groups.
7.Responsible for working closely with AFMC to set strategy and focus on programs where FLIR can win business.
