Job Description:
SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision primarily for new assignments, assists engineers in the design, development and test of new and existing products; primarily electro-mechanical equipment. Needs to be able to read engineering documentation such as schematics, assembly drawings and parts lists (bill of materials). Tasks include parts ordering, PC board building and rework, electrical trouble shooting and debug, and assisting with product release into manufacturing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform electrical and mechanical assembly and modifications.

2. Build prototype assemblies for new products.

3. Troubleshoot assemblies and systems under the supervision of an engineer.

4. Maintain the lab by ordering parts for projects and general use.

5. Assist engineering with the paperwork for release of products.

6. Assist in testing the performance of systems and assemblies.

7. Support production in the rework of boards as required.

8. Perform other job related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

Requires an Associates of Science Degree, or certificate in electronics or equivalent, a minimum of four years related experience and a good understanding of AC and DC circuits. Must be familiar with SMT assembly and rework on PCBs and be able to build test fixtures from limited documentation. Must be able to read assembly drawings and schematics. Solder certification a plus.

Equipment Used: Oscilloscope, soldering equipment, logic analyzer, prom programmer, wave form generator, test equipment, microscope.
