Job Description:
SUMMARY
Responsible for meeting the order booking goals and developing and managing a third party distribution channel for FLIR’s Security and Surveillance Products within an assigned geographic region. Distribution channel development and management includes recruiting and managing Manufacturer’s Representatives, independent dealers, distributors and system integrators.
In addition to distribution channel development and management, other business development activities include direct end user sales calls, executing a regional sales plan, maintaining an active forecast, and performing specific tasks to support and enhance product sales and product development. The regional sales manager is responsible for revenue generation and to support an annual booking and sales quota. Participates in industry trade shows, VIP events, regional security user groups, and executes high level prospect demonstrations weekly.
TERRITORY
The North Central region includes Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Western PA (Pittsburgh area), West Virginia, and Kentucky. The territory also includes the Canadian areas of Ontario and Quebec, as well as Canadian Maritime provinces. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develops and meets domestic sales forecast by selling standard security products both directly and through integrators and distribution partners · Manages independent network of manufacturers representatives, dealers, distributors and system integrators · Manages an inventory of regionally deployed demonstration equipment · Frequently demonstrates security products within region · Responds to complex bid requirements, including detailed technical arguments, protests, competitive response and compliance to customer bidding standards · Prepares the Security and Surveillance regional forecast · Participates in applicable regional security segment trade shows and user industry groups · Maintains up-to-date account records using FLIR’s Sales Force Automation and account management software · Communicates large integration and program opportunities to senior management · Travels frequently, providing regular visits to integrators, new prospect demos, and major accounts and trade shows
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Must be able to communicate orally and in writing using the English language · Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. · Must be able to travel up to 70% · Must be a United States Citizen
Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
· BS degree with strong technical background · Minimum of 5 yrs of experience selling high technology capital equipment to commercial and municipal customers or specific security industry sales experience · Experience managing large regional business development activity · Experience with networking to security integration community · Experience in forecasting · Experience with PC: MS Office applications including a demonstrated proficiency with sales force automation programs, spreadsheets and presentation programs; working knowledge of Windows and MS Office operating system is strongly preferred · Good interpersonal and writing skills and a highly professional presentation are required
