SUMMARY
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN FT. LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA (USA).
This person will play a key role in increasing market exposure for CVS maritime helping us to meet and exceed our bookings plan. Primary activities include booth duty at national and regional trade shows, fishing tournaments, boat manufacturer rendezvous and dealer open houses. Additional activities include in-depth product demonstration to marine electronics dealers, boat dealers, fleet operators, and various key accounts. The position requires a highly skilled individual possessing superior interpersonal skills and a strong customer focus. A blend of sales and technical skills are required to assist customers in product evaluations and trials as well as providing additional feedback to product management and development. A minimum of 5-years experience in thermal imaging or related maritime electronics field is required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and supports Boat Shows and Trade Shows, and supports booth duty
- Coordinates and attends various maritime industry events, including boat manufacturer meetings and rendezvous, fishing tournaments, dealer open-houses, regional boat shows, etc.
- Demonstrates FLIR products for dealers, fleet operators and key accounts
- Assists with training field reps
- Travels with field reps to demonstrate products, gather competitive info and new-product specification and feature requirements
- Composes dealer bulletins, consumer mailings, and other promotional material
- Manages, tracks and coordinates demo equipment and various trade show assets in the field
- Provides input into product development/product management for new product requirements, and into marketing for brochures, ads and other marketing materials
- Serves as an additional key point-of-contact for our manufacturers reps and dealers
TERRITORY
All aspects of the North American CVS Maritime market which includes consumer marine electronics dealers, boat dealers and manufacturers, maritime law enforcement, fleet operators, and commercial shipping. Based in Florida, this position will provide particular concentration in the Southeastern United States, while maintaining a national presence in support of FLIR's maritime sales and promotional activities.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- BS or equivalent business management/Military or Merchant Maritime/Field Ops experience w/some formal undergrad education - 5 years of maritime electronics/capital equipment sales experience - Knowledge of commercial/merchant maritime industry - Demonstrated sales/business development skills in marine electronics technology, thermal imaging or integrated electronic systems - Familiarity with US Commercial Maritime industry, thermal imaging technology & applications - Ability to setup, operate & demonstrate FLIR's Maritime systems in trade show or on-vessel environments - Understand, document & tailor customer requirements into FLIR solutions - Present technical info clearly & concisely for small/large groups using demo equipment, multimedia & personal presentation - MS Office & sales force automation applications - Ability to independently travel up to 50% - Ability to lift up to 70lbs - Physically capable of working onboard v
