BASIC FUNCTION:
Assist in leading, managing and facilitating the needs of the entire Banquet Department staff, ensuring services and offerings are commensurate with guests’ expectations while consistently enforcing the established service standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
45% Utilize established controls and systems to ensure all financial goals of are met, ensure all service standards are executed consistently and product and equipment offerings are according to specifications. Ensure all Food & Beverage associates are in full compliance of the hotel’s policies and procedures. Attend all pre & post-convention meetings.

20% Assist in the resolution of all procedural and convivial challenges inter-departmentally. Create staffing schedules to meet the expectations of the assigned functions. Meet with the Culinary, Conference and Catering teams to confirm any and all special service needs for all group functions. Assist in the setup of banquet rooms, monthly inventory, and collection of payments and ordering of supplies.

20% Conduct service and product training/ audits within the department on a regular basis, general maintenance & cleanliness throughout all meetings and functions spaces is executed daily. Complete all assignments on time, accurately and to the specifications as required or requested

5% Attend BEO meetings and departmental meetings as requested or assigned. Assist in selecting, training, supervising, disciplining and counseling of associates in accordance to Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa policies and procedures.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
• Audits guests’ checks, department changes and files to ensure accuracy.
• Assist in the creation and distribution of accurate written materials.
• Ensures, menus are utilized according to Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa standards and policies.
• Ensures all Food & Beverage associates are certified in both Food Handlers & “TIPS” classes.
• Follow-up with guests from large parties and special events, by sending a thank you card and invitation to return.
• Distributes daily to the General Manager, Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Director, an electronic Food and Beverage report covering all outlets financial activities.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.




Position Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
ľ High school graduate or equivalent.
ľ Two years in a Banquet supervisory or management capacity.
ľ Strong organizational skills.
ľ Ability to think clearly in an active work environment.
ľ Detail oriented.
ľ Exceptional follow through and follow-up skills.
ľ Ability to maintain a calm and positive demeanor a a sometimes stressful work environment.
Luxury property and 4 Star / 5 Star experience preferred.
