OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To maintain all functions of the bakery, maintain all quality and quantity control issues
• Assist chef with special menus and oversee production of all menu items.
• Help create menus
• To help with production when needed
• Insure quality control in all phases of the kitchen
• Inspect product as they are being made
• Give cooks proper direction and training
• Work in conjunction with front of the house and waiters to meet all reasonable requests of guests
• Keep food and labor costs within budget
• Maintain order and control problems associated with unexpected situations
• Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely fashion

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of five years of culinary supervisory experience required
• Responsible for organizing, supervising and coordinating the activities of cooks
• Engaged in presentation and preparing menu items
• Able to mix, bake, decorate all product including bread production
• Maintain a clean and safe work area adhering to food safety and health standards.
• Ensures food ingredients are stored in their designated area and rotated in the proper manner, and maintains consistency of overall product
• Handles and cleans kitchen equipment carefully and safely to prevent damage or injury.
• Works efficiently and effectively to gather mise en place and produce quality product.
•
• Prioritizes and organized tasks for speed and quality assurance.
• Perform other kitchen duties as required.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Assists in training and leadership development of culinary staff.
• Ability to work under pressure and take initiative in a fast paced environment.
• Must have a neat appearance and be well groomed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Occasionally lifting or pushing up to 50 lbs.
