BASIC FUNCTION: The Bartender serves beverages and food to the guests at the bar according to Stowe Mountain Lodge standards. Also, provides sincere service through actions that display self-confidence, grace and courtesy to guests and colleagues. Will also be required to assist as a food server as business warrants. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Serves beverages and food to guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction. 2. Prepares beverages for other servers to supply to guests, and act as cashier for the lounge. 3. Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based projections from the daily functions sheet. 4. Cleans and organizes bar area and storeroom. 5. Is responsible for maintaining stock, cutting and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to insure product quality. 6. Greets in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control. 7. Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each internal/external guests, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served. 8. Receives cash from guests, makes change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and insure vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys. Deposits cash drops and secures bank 9. Replenishes supplies in a timely and efficient manner, and minimizes waste and misuse of liquor. 10. Locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items. 11. Perform other duties as assigned such as assisting security with disorderly guests. 12. Is able to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items. 13. Must adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to insure all laws are being followed. 14. Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events. 15. Is knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and Resort policies. 16. Addresses all guest feedback with the utmost confidence, grace and concern for their satisfaction. 17. Communicates all pertinent information to the department managers. 18. Upholds all safety standards of Stowe Mountain Lodge and Destination Hotels and Resorts. 19. Is able to communicate verbally and in writing in English. 20. Is able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs. 21. Is able to stand/walk up to 6-8 hours per day. 22. Is a team player and interacts with all guests and fellow Associates in a positive and friendly manner. 23. Is flexible to work 11a.m. - 6p.m. and 3p.m. - midnight as needed |

| QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE: • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Bartender experience required as well as server • Pleasant and attentive personality. • Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes. • Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check. Writing skills for completion of requisitions, balance sheets and vouchers. • Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock. • Attention to detail. • Customer service experience. • Ability to operate coffee and espresso machines. • Ability to multi-task. • Ability to adapt to changing guest needs. • Ability to obtain any government license or certificate. |
