Job Description:

Applications are now being accepted for the above position in the Recreation Services Department, Community and Fire Services Commission. You are encouraged to apply on-line at www.markham.ca Reporting to the Aquatic Coordinator, you will prepare, plan, organize, teach and evaluate safe and enjoyable AquaFit Classes. Duties will include but not limited to providing a safe learning environment, participation in all mandatory staff training and meetings, and complete all related administrative duties. Supervise volunteers as required.

Job Requirements:

Completion of High School Diploma is required. CALA Aqua fitness Leadership Training and Certification Experience as a Lifeguard and/or Swimming Instructors, Group Fitness Instructors, or Personal Trainer preferred Two to four years of previous experience in an Aquatics or Fitness Instructional capacity teaching/instructing both youth and adults is required. Current Standard First Aid with CPR ‘C’ AED NLS and/or LSS Swim Instructor and/or Certified Fitness Instructor Good customer service and communication (written and verbal) skills to coach and mentor a diverse range of generally adult students enrolled in the most complex Specialty Aquatics Programs. Excellent Leadership skills
