Reporting to the Aquatic Coordinator, you will prepare, plan, organize, teach and evaluate safe and enjoyable enjoyable Lifesaving Society B.O.A.T. Courses. Teaches according to industry standards, all the specific material of the Boat Operator Accredited Training program. Evaluates participants and completes test sheets for all participants, while ensuring a positive and safe environment for all participants and peers.
Duties will include but not limited to providing a safe learning environment, provide direct leadership and motivation while teaching a quality B.O.A.T. course. Participation in all mandatory staff training and meetings, and complete all related administrative duties. Supervise volunteers as required.
Job Requirements:
Completion of High School is required 30 to 40 hours of additional training beyond the Aquatics Instructor designation, including the Advanced Instructor status and Examiner Standard Clinic and additional relevant courses for the Program being taught are required. Examiner certification as a Lifesaving Society B.O.A.T. Instructor Some prior experience in an Instructor capacity is preferred with demonstrated instructing skills. Current Aquatics Instructor Current Standard First Aid with CPR “C” Current Advanced Instructor certification/status Good customer service and communication (written and verbal) skills to coach and mentor a diverse range of students in basic/introductory skills in a specialty area. Leadership Skills, ability to work tactfully with other staff as part of a team, enjoys working with people of all ages.
Ability and fitness level to perform aquatics instruction and rescue skills to standard.
