Job Description:

Applications are now being accepted for the above position in the Recreation Services Department, Community and Fire Services Commission. You are encouraged to apply on-line at www.markham.ca Hours: Early afternoon daytime hours are available You will be responsible for instructing a Ballet Program for children and preschoolers. In this position you will plan, prepare, organize and instruct a ballet program for children and preschoolers at Thornhill Community Centre. Working with the Program Supervisor, you will ensure that program participants are aware of upcoming events, program changes, or cancellations. You will supervise volunteers as required. Meet with parents as needed.

Job Requirements:

Minimum High School Diploma Technical and practical training at an advanced level in Ballet. Accreditation in a recognized association preferred Minimum 2 years teaching formal dance Minimum 3 years experience in ballet Knowledge of dance related training, education methods and techniques Current Standard First Aid and CPR 'C' Excellent verbal/written communication skills, leadership skills, customer service skills and sensitivity to interact with a diversity of patrons, parents, and staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
