Description:
Turbine, Inc., an industry leader in the red-hot Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) gaming space is leading the industry in bringing the MMO genre to console platforms and is looking for a proven product visionary to undertake a one-of-a-kind project with the potential to change the face of online gaming.

The Staff Technical Artist will integrate art assets into the game engine. The Staff Technical Artist will also be responsible for helping to establish Shader pipelines and tools as well as creating Shaders and working with textures. Rigging for objects and creatures will also be required. A strong understanding of Modeling, UV and Texture editing is required. The Staff Technical Artist will also help design art pipelines for the Studio.

The Position of Staff Technical Artist works independently with management supervision.

Job Duties:

• Efficiently utilize custom tools to integrate art assets into game worlds
• Create, document and maintain Shaders and Shader tools pipelines and workflows.
• Adhere to and advise on Art pipelines from the Studio to integration in consoles or PC engines
• Create and maintain directory structure and naming conventions for art files
• Rig and Bind objects and creatures
• Perform Modeling, Texture and UV editing and quality assurance
• Adhere to and advise on directory structure and naming conventions for art files
• Create tools for the Art Studio
• Solves technical problems for the Art Studio
• Other duties as assigned by manager



Required Skills:
Requirements and Qualifications:

• Knowledge and experience with Shaders, from using existing tools to scripting languages for Shaders.
• One to Three years experience in game development, console or PC.
• Experience with Integration tools
• Strong understanding of Maya or other 3D content creation application
• MEL and Python scripting abilities
• Must have strong problem solving skills and a tendency towards perfectionism
• Must have strong communication and organizational skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in 3D Animation, Computer Science or related field

Other Requirements/Pluses:

• Strong interest/passion for MMO's
