Summary: Responsible for providing correct HealthCare Procedural Coding (HCPC) System of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) equipment based on manufacturer price quotes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• HCPC coding of Rehab DME from manufacturer price quotes.
• Review Detailed Product Description (DPD) for accuracy before sending to physician.
• Identify times on manufacturer quotes that are non-covered and customer responsibility, advising documentation team of this.
• Remain current with funding criteria for DME.
• Calculate Gross Profit Margin (GPM) for Rehab DME.
• Identify if customer qualifies for level of equipment.
• Responsible to handle confidential or protect information you must deal with on your job.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 to 3 years of job related experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CCSP Certified Coding Specialist Physician; or CPC-P = Certified Professional Coder - Physician
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to use Microsoft programs - excel, word, outlook, window operating system, and the internet
• Ability to use Microsoft programs – excel, word, outlook, window operating system, and the internet
• ICD-9 and HCPC coding
• Knowledge of funding requirements by payer of DME – or ability to research and obtain information
• Knowledge of medical terminology
