Job Description:
SUMMARY: Implement a high volume automated manufacturing test system for new RF and digital products

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this position, you will:
• Lead the gathering and implementation of manufacturing requirements directly from product design and manufacturing process engineers. Review and provide proper feedback about these requirements.
• Create and review innovative HW/SW testing architectures and designs for challenging problems with minimal peer guidance or supervision. This includes breaking the original requirements down into the proper high level and mid range architecture and then creating detailed design notes from the results.
• Implement code using Labview, VB.NET, or Tcl/Tk. Solve integration issues that involve multiple code modules, code bases, and/or multiple developers. Critically review others’ code.
• Perform advanced unit, integration, and systems verification and validation testing using HW/SW tools. Review others testing and suggest additional test cases where appropriate.
• Review documentation produced during the Product Development Lifecycle that is generated by other engineering groups and verifies this documentation is sufficient for product design. Generate support documents as needed.
• Work closely with other project team members as needed to ensure the final combined product has compatible software, electronic hardware, and mechanical hardware which functions properly together and performs at levels specified in the product specifications.
• Provide technical guidance to other test team members and lead large test projects requiring more than one engineer, with minimal supervision.
• Travel internationally to Asia and South America, representing LoJack to suppliers and subcontractors.

• EDUCATION: Minimum B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or equivalent from an accredited engineering program.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
o Proven leadership of RF hardware automated test system development for volume manufacturing including coordinating external test system development partners.
o Experience with RF or Microwave testing in a high volume consumer environment.
o Experience with RF transceivers or cellular handsets.
o Technical expertise using and understanding schematics and HW analysis software (Pspice, PADS, Viewlogic, MathCAD)
o Experience with basic electronics HW and systems (i.e. Transistors, A/D converters, Op Amps, serial and parallel interfaces, etc.)
o Experience with RF Test Equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, Sources)
o Experience with development and debugging tools (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, sources, noise figure meters)
o 4+ years of experience in SW development (C, C++, XML, etc., under Windows and/or Linux operating system)
o 5+ years of experience in Labview or other NI programming languages.
o 5+ Experience with basic controls, and Data Acquisition systems (DAQ)
o Understanding of product development phases.
 Electronics manufacturing functional testing experience.
o Experience in statistical analysis (SPC, 6-sigma)
 Some familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and ability to integrate test systems’ output to the MES
o Good written and verbal communications skills in English
o Good written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin preferred
