Job Title: Laboratory Technician Location: NAC Center at TSRI, La Jolla, California
The candidate will participate in the execution and interpretation of experiments related to projects focused on the characterization of neutralizing antibodies and antibody responses to HIV-1 infection, and on the mechanisms of neutralization and antibody-mediated protection. Minimum qualifications include M.S. or B.S. degree in cell biology or related field with a minimum 1 year of relevant experience. Any appropriate combination of education, certifications, and/or relevant work experience will be considered.
Main responsabilities: - Prepare HIV-1 and pseudotyped virus stocks in BSL3 conditions - Perform viral neutralization assays - Perform viral entry assays - Perform site-directed mutagenesis - Perform cell-binding assays - Perform ELISAs - Maintain cells lines in culture for transfections, virus production, neutralization assays - Prepare and activate human primary cells - Organize effectively and discuss data
Required skills. Experience in common techniques in - cellular biology and immunology: cell culture, cell purification, ELISAs … - biochemistry: protein purification, immunoprecipitations, SDS-Page, Western Blots… - molecular biology: RNA, DNA purification, PCR, real time PCR, sequencing, site directed mutagenesis…
