QUALIFICATIONS: Degree/Experience: BSEE with electric power emphasis preferred. PE registration desirable. Some supervisory experience desirable. Three to ten years experience in electrical power delivery systems with a utility, major manufacturer, or major facility. BASIC JOB FUNCTION: The essential job function is sales, marketing, and management support for the local division office of HVM. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform sales work, inside and outside, in support of HVM’s technical services. Involves direct customer contact and engineering support. Provide proposals or service contracts for HVM’s services and repair work. Demonstrate to customers how HVM’s complete electrical testing and maintenance programs will assist them in avoiding dangerous and costly electrical failures. Interpret Engineering Reports for customers and assist with the engineering recommendations. Establish customer maintenance programs for testing and maintenance of switchgear and transformers. Coordinate and schedule work with HVM’s shop and with customers. Serve as project manager for various projects both temporary and ongoing. ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Locate and purchase parts and materials for customer work. Providing engineering support for trouble shooting and general field engineering activities. Direct field work of test technicians in electrical testing and maintenance of electrical switchgear and transformers. DRIVING REQUIREMENTS: Operate a variety of vehicles including passenger car, fork lift, cargo van, or box van. Vehicles may be automatic or manual shift. Valid drivers license required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Some lifting of test equipment required up to 100 pounds. Some climbing of ladders and steps required as necessary to inspect electrical equipment and access electrical facilities or other locations. Work occasionally in hot or cold conditions due to weather or customer environmental conditions (boiler rooms, etc.). Wear respirator to work safely in dusty or other contaminated environments. Pre-employment medical examination required to determine suitability for above specified work requirements. DEGREE OF CONTROL: Work under direct supervision of Division Manager. Support technicians in general management of field activities and responsibilities. Support technical staff in general management of work and customer activities and responsibilities. Possible supervised access to US Government area classified as secret. SCOPE OF CONTACTS AND DEGREE OF INTERPERSONAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Professional level of skill needed for consulting with fellow employees, customers, suppliers, and potential new customers. Business dress normally appropriate, although work clothes suitable to the occasion are acceptable.
