Southern CA office seeks FT Sr. Highway/Sr. Transportation Civil PE with BSCE, CA PE license. Must have 15+ yrs experience in the preparation and mangement of PS&E for Caltrans freeway and highway projects and has knowledge of Caltrans Standards, Policies and Procedures. Also to include: roadway/geometrics, drainage, and traffic control. Local public works infrastructure design experience is also desirable. The work is performed under the direct supervision of an Associate Engineer or Vice President. Project Management experience on large-scale projects. Business Development abilities. Direct supervision is exercised over the work of EITs, civil designers, CAD technicians, consultants, and contractors engaged in design activity. The CE will perform the duties of other employees in the engineering discipline as required or assigned by the Associate or VP. The principal duties of the CE are performed in general office environment except that some travel and travel to construction site environments will be encountered between Ventura County office and Orange County office. Also to include: Provides technical assistance to other disciplines and offices within the Huitt-Zollars organization; prepares contract specifications; updates, revises and reviews drawings and files; writing reports; assists in the preparation of standards and specifications and evaluates material used in projects; prepares budgets, schedules and work plans for proposed projects; and other duties as assigned. Caltrans project experience (District 7 preferred which is Los Angeles and Ventura counties) OC area is District 12, Ontario is District 8, Santa Barbara is District 5 and Bakersfield area is District 6... San Diego is District 11
