Costing Analyst

As the Costing Analyst, your role will require you to control and monitor all costing elements related to new product development and existing product review. The role will control systems cost data, standard cost development, BOM development and assemble data and cost information into meaningful formats to support the sales and marketing efforts in determining product launch opportunities This role will also support the Purchasing team in all cost approvals and market trend analysis as required.

Summary of Position Responsibilities:

• Develop SOP’s and BOM accuracy models, analyze results and present results to the internal customers, and finalize costing summary documents
• Develop tracking and measurables including scorecards for purchasing team to support reporting to senior management
• Assist with purchasing in providing like products and supplier analysis on most effective costs of manufacturing.
• Maintain and confirm supplier pricing on services and products assigned
• Review and identify opportunities for cost savings within the organization
• Support buyers and other as assigned to develop data bases to show material and cost trends as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Business / Accounting / Finance
• Excellent or superior Excel skills and on going development in this area would be desirable
• Minimum 2 years experience in a costing / analysis role:
• Consumer products experience preferably in a purchasing/costing function
• Superior IT and system skills in ERP and other data base environments including report writing and generation of data
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities and timelines.
• Attention to detail is essential
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to work within deadlines and under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment
