We employ more than 1500 professionals who are the best in their fields. GP has an immediate need for several Computer Systems Analysts in Mystic, CT. SUMMARY: Analyzes user requirements, procedures and problems to automate processing or improve existing computer system by performing the following duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Confers with users and programmers to analyze current operational procedures and identify specific problems and requirements. • Writes detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions and steps required to develop or modify computer program. • Reviews computer system capabilities, user software requirements, work flow and scheduling limitations to determine if program or program change is possible within existing system. • Studies current information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develops new systems to improve production or work flow as required. • Prepares work flow charts and diagrams to specify operations to be performed by equipment, programming and personnel. • Prepares technical reports, memoranda and instructional manuals as documentation of system operation and development. • Upgrades system and corrects errors to maintain and improve system. • Assists Computer Programmer in resolution of work problems. • Directs and coordinates work of others to develop, test, install and modify programs. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline OR • Minimum five years Computer Systems Analyst experience.
