Description:
General Physics is in need of a Desktop Publisher to work out of our Solihull facility. Responsible for the provision of desktop publishing services to designated business units and to support the administrative, proposal and bid processes within GP utilising a variety of software programmes to produce project deliverables in specified format.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To develop and design materials to support the strategies of the appropriate business units.
To import/export text and graphics from various software packages and convert files between applications and develop software templates.
To maintain the GP corporate identity within all internal/external standard forms and course materials.
To assist with and support Quality policies and procedures documentation activities as requested.
To ensure that all documentation is administered promptly and accurately and adheres to GP DTP standards.
To provide statistical information as requested by the appropriate manager.
To ensure that financial awareness of project costs is maintained in liaison with GP management.
To ensure that certification for courses is provided as required in liaison with the appropriate administrative and management processes.
To participate in the staff development programme within the framework of IIP and within the agreed individual staff development plan.
To ensure that the Equal Opportunity, Health and Safety and Quality Policies are adhered to within your area of responsibility and that any non-compliance is reported to your Manager.
To communicate with internal and external agencies, staff, customers, management, peers, technical writers, graphics, editorial personnel and colleagues in a manner appropriate to your position at all times.
To ensure that the corporate values of the Company are actively promoted and implemented at all times.
To act in accordance with your confidentiality agreement with the company at all times.
To follow policies and procedures.
To support a culture that promotes teamwork and discourages divisiveness at all organisational levels.

Essential Requirements:

Good standard of secondary education.
5 years sector experience.
Graphics, DTP or Arts qualification.
Administration skills.
Computer literate.

Software skills using:

Microsoft Applications
Word
PowerPoint
Excel
PageMaker
CorelDraw
Corel Photo-Paint
Adobe Photoshop
Acrobat Distiller
Equipment knowledge e.g. scanners, CD writers, printers, photocopiers, binders, laminators etc.
Communication skills.
Good telephone manner.
Well presented.
