Business Development Consultant

Summary:
Responsible for the development of business in one or more assigned regions through liaison with the Business Development and Regional Training Manager ensuring the level of business meets contract requirements and local/national marketing and business strategies.

  • Responsible for the recruitment of learners to a designated programme ensuring the learner is ‘work ready’ and the opportunities for positive progression is maximised in line with contractual requirements

  • Responsible for establishing excellent customer relationships ensuring total customer satisfaction and repeat business.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • To assist the Manager in establishing and implementing an annual business development and marketing strategy for the designated geographical area/sector of development.
  • To ensure own monthly starter volumes are achieved in line with contractual requirements and agreed annual targets set by the management team.
  • To ensure all marketing/promotional materials used is current and in line with GP’s standard format.
  • To actively update and develop own awareness and training in line with the Company Skills for Life Strategy.
  • To maintain accurate records of all marketing activity as requested by the Business Development Manager.
  • To ensure lead generation is fully developed through the effective communication between managers and peers within all regions.
  • To ensure that suitable employers and eligible learners are identified through the effective use of initial assessment.
  • To ensure that all learners and employers receive a thorough Induction and initial assessment and are presented with all relevant information in line with policies and procedures.
  • To ensure the accurate and timely completion of all Initial Assessment/Induction and start/leaver documentation in line with internal and external administration and claims requirements.
  • To ensure that all potential employment environments comply with Health, Safety and Equal Opportunities legislative requirements.
  • To ensure own staff development objectives are met as detailed within the annual Performance Based Objectives.
  • To ensure attendance of all relevant meetings as detailed within the Business Unit annual meeting schedule.
  • To ensure all management information requests are completed accurately and on a timely basis.
  • To ensure that the marketing database is maintained at all times directing GP staff as appropriate.
  • To ensure the effective communication between all internal and external customers.
  • To participate in the staff development programme within the framework of IIP and within the agreed individual staff development plan.
  • To ensure that the Equal Opportunity, Health and Safety and Quality Policies are adhered to within your area of responsibility and that any non-compliance is reported to your Manager.
  • To communicate with internal and external agencies, staff, customers, management and peers in a manner appropriate to your position at all times.

  • Good standard of secondary education.
  • 5 years relevant business development experience.
  • Health and Safety Qualification
  • Good administrative skills.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Car owner/driver.
  • Well presented.
  • Business/Marketing Qualification/Degree.
  • A1, A2, V1 Award.
  • Basic Skills Award.
  • 10 years relevant sector experience.
  • Previous NVQ experience.
  • Microsoft Office/other DTA.
  • Other language skills.
  • Labour market knowledge.
  • Knowledge in key market sector.
  • 5 years experience.
  • Full clean licence
