Control Room Operator

Perform and document all activities for assigned systems in accordance with approved guidelines and procedures. Conduct plant operations in a safe, environmentally sound, cost effective, and disciplined manner that protects the health and safety of the workers, the public, and the environment.

Requirements:
  • A high school graduate or equivalent is required. Associates degree in physical science or technical field desirable.
  • Two years experience in a demilitarization facility, chemical processing plant, petrochemical plant, and nuclear facility.
  • Training on the operation of a demilitarization facility, chemical processing plant, petrochemical plant, or nuclear facility
  • Experience in toxic/hazardous environment
  • Experience in computerized control room operations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPRP certification.
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts.


    • Problem Solving:
  • Work on multiple tasks simultaneously under tight schedule constraints. This will require the ability to manage time and work efficiently.
  • React quickly to changing work assignments in response to equipment problems. This will require the ability to prioritize work assignments and flexibility in managing one’s own time.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to equipment/system performance. This will require a thorough understanding of the system theory and operation.
