Position Description:

The Mission

FEI's Information Systems Group provides FEI Company network users the most productive computing environment possible by delivering effective and efficient information technology solutions, support, guidance and customer service in a timely manner.


The Position

As a member of the Worldwide Information Technology team, responsible for the installation, repair and preventative maintenance of the company’s personal computers and systems/network infrastructure and projects, contributing to the department’s corporate mission.

• Telephone, e-mail, and walk-in support IT
• Diagnose and troubleshoot infrastructure and key application systems
• Technical support for local and remote customer desktops - including configuration, installation, imaging and testing of software and hardware on corporate computing platforms
• Knowledge of end user systems to component level
• Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office products
• Process requisitions for hardware/software
• IT Helpdesk phone support
• Record and maintain hardware and software assets and licenses
• Installation, configuration and maintenance of network infrastructure including routers, switches, VPN, and cabling topology
• Development, maintenance and monitoring of systems and network monitoring. Update management with systems and network metrics
• Document systems, metrics and changes
• Administer backup and recovery systems
• Administer telephone infrastructure
• Evaluate new and emerging products and technologies
• Supervise 3rd party service providers


The Requirements

• 2-7 years experience in a similar role
• Experience designing and administering an enterprise level Network Infrastructure (LAN and WAN)
• Prior experience managing IT project workloads
• Cisco experience required (routers, switches, VPN)
• Experience designing and administering an Enterprise level Microsoft Server Infrastructure (Sharepoint, Exchange, IIS)
• Work well with minimal supervision and demonstrate a high level of initiative
• Verifiable problem solving and project management skills
• Well organized; team oriented
